BridgetotheStars.net has a message from Chris Weitz about the change to the ending the first HDM film. It appears the final three chapters of the first book are going to be included in the next film for narrative sense so that one film has a good ending and the second a good beginning.
I suppose it [...]
OMG, Gizmodo have got a picture story of a 21 foot long X-Wing that actually flies with rocket power. The launch is scheduled for next week and it even has an R2D2 unit in the back and the X wings take around 35 seconds to deploy into position. Lets hope the flight lasts that long [...]
On a slightly odd note, George Takei now has an asteroid named after him, formerly known as 1994 GT4. He joins Nichelle Nicholls, Gene Rodenberry, Asimov and Heinlein for astronomical bodies in space.

Nothing directly to do with sf, but somebody dugg this link from Web Urbanist on flash mobs and street art. William Gibson and Cory Doctorow have referred to these in their work and Howard Rheinhold wrote Smart Mobs and the seminal The Virtual Community about the way in which community forms online in ways that [...]
I’m in the process of changing ISPs so if you are trying to email me in the next few days, please do bear with me whilst I disconnect and reconnect. Well what are holidays for apart from sorting out the domestic IT issues.

It also intrigues me because I’d like to see the [...]

Darn it, I missed this. On August 7th, 1991, Tim Berners-Lee posted to the alt.hypertext newsgroup that the World Wide Web was born.
