Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies world beats a tattoo

From the spine shuddering (but perhaps oh so ineffably cool) is a link on Scott Westerfeld’s blog that there are such items as blood-powered tattoos. It appears to be a subcutaneous implant which runs off the sugar in the blood. Its like the flash tattoos in his novel, Uglies (Amazon).
