The Guardian blog goes noir

Ned Beauman over at the Guardian has run this piece on noir graphic novels. It is an intriguing, if really short, overview of the problems of creating noir fiction and he mentions some excellent writers, like Brian Bendis and Warren Ellism though he does miss David Lapham.  I’m not sure he really gets his teeth into the issue but provides an overview of, well, moving genre from one medium to another. Asthe comments put it, he only mentions some of the elements of noir and detective fiction but, hey, you can’t have everything. Page 45‘s comment is certainly worth reading for ideas (and they run a brilliant email newsletter which will give you ideas about new stuff).
