Sidewise Awards – winner announced

The Sidewise Awards for Alternate History have been announced. Gardner Dozois won for Counterfactual (originally publishing in the June 2006 edition of Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction). Charles Stross won for the first three in the Clan Corporate series.

The nominees in the Long Form category are:
* 1862 by Robert Conroy (Presidio Press)
* The Tourmaline by Paul Park (Tor Books)
* The trilogy comprised of The Family Trade, The Hidden Family, and The Clan Corporate by Charles Stross (Tor Books)
* The Disunited States of America by Harry Turtledove (Tor Books)
* Farthing by Jo Walton (Tor Books)

The nominees in the Short Form category are:
*”The Pacific Mystery” by Stephen Baxter (published in The Mammoth Book of Extreme Science Fiction)
* “O Pioneer” by Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff (Paradox 9)
