In strange times Heroes come forth

Just saw the first two episodes of Season 1 of Heroes and wow, thanks BBC. I was expecting a lot but the writing and the characters were far stronger than I’d expected.

Its one of those geek shows which makes sense (in an odd way) but is affectionate – especially Hiro, at the moment, trying to persuade his friend that he can teleport but there is always a sense of doubt as to whether he in fact can. I like the fact that there is a flip side that we’ll perhaps see with the porn model and the cheerleader who is trying to avoid being seen by the creepy stalker (who just happens to be her adopted father).

Also what’s with the professor and his son? I suspect that we’ll find out soon enough. Definitely worth waiting for Wednesdays now.

Update: The BBC have set up a Heroes radio show to air on BBC7 on Saturday (though you can download the MP3 after it airs apparently) which will go out at 6.30 and repeated around midnight.

Wow, indeed, Iain! I just finished watching the series on Sci-Fi and can vouch for its sustained excellence – and, I’m pleased to say, some really nice in-jokes for comics fans.

Enjoy! And roll on, Series 2!

Have seen the Sky run as well (must… resist… spoilers…)

Would have preferred to see the series without ads, definitely.

I’ve sort of been updated by a friend who I was driving home one late night so I sort of know what’s going on and have posted an article about Heroes a while ago that I got off Wired.

Yes you must resist spoilers, Ariel, but just in case I’ll put my fingers in my ears and sing la-la-la. You can alsoways watch it again, dear boy.
