Short burst delivered by hod carrier
Warren Ellis has this piece on publishing on the web. Its an intriguing rant delivered by burst and states the bleeding obvious. The fact that it needs to be stated says something about views of the internet as publishing platform. The Net doesn’t really lend itself to long articles which you need to spend ages scrolling down pages (that’s what the printer button on the browser is for) but it does lend itself to short articles that either interlink to other pieces on the same site or like this post, link somewhere else.
It is not as if browsers cannot cope with this since Firefox and IE7 both allow for tabs and the loveable Flock (which I’m using to write this piece) also allows the user to blog from any page they wish to and upload to other web services.
