Dracula Uncut

The Hammer Dracula has been shown uncut at the Cannes film festival for the first time. Various scenes thought to be a touch gruesome were shaved but have now been restored.

Whether we notice it more or not, it sometimes beggars belief that the fantatic genres, especially horror, attract greater attention for the cutting room floor. Whilst I’m sure some of the material is obejctionable, I’m sure that you produce an interesting study of social mores by analysing what gt cut, restored, the date of the actions and the social context. Hmmm….
