Ken Macleod’s previous oeuvre won’t prepare you for the Execution Channel.
The UK is sitting on the political fence between the superpowers and is drawn into the “war on terror” when it is attacked anonymously. The Travis family becomes intimately bound into the larger global narrative. Jack Travis finds himself torn between who to give his [...]
Okay, I had a WTF moment with yesterday’s episode. Those dolls seriously wierded me out but, in retrospect, this is a good thing. Although the supernatural had to be involved, the atmosphere was just right for a haunted house story with some suitable trickery and red herrings.

I’ve just the BBC article about the return of the Magic Roundabout and its attempt to return to the original. Obviously we’ll have to wait to see if anything else happens with it but provisionally this sounds good (and a darn site better than the film!)

Liz Hand has emailed me to say that she has a podcast over here of her new novel, Generation Loss, which is a treat - as ever.

Ariel, that busy bunny over at Genre Files and UKSFBookNews, has created a site for Joe Abercombie. If you’ve not read his fantasy, do so, it is a treat!

I’ve just come across this intriguing interview with Neil Gaiman on Wild River Review just before his appearance at PEN.

Joe Gordon’s blog at Forbidden Planet had a link to an interview with Mike Carey on Newsarama. I loved Lucifer and his run on Hellblazer and pretty much lose the plot when each new issue of Crossing Midnight comes out. Its an intriguing story, set in Japan, which covers much of the same ground as Lucifer [...]
I’ve just seen this hilarious (and if you reach the end potentially mind-boggling) crossover idea pitch on the Making Light blog. Go on, folks. Its certainly made my afternoon.

Orbit have posted an interview with Karen Miller on YouTube. I’ve got her debut novel, Innocent Mage, and if Orbit’s past record is anything to go by, it’ll be a rip roaring read.

It has intrigued me for a while that we don’t hear much about non-Anglophone sf. I’ve seen various articles in journals like Foundation but now it appears that a new site, Indian Science Fiction and Fantasy, has its heart set on correcting this.
It would be good to see authors other than Ashok Banker get published in [...]
