Books with pictures – it’ll never catch on

Joe Gordon over the FPI blog has an interesting take on Jeff Vandermeer’s Bookslut article. More when I’ve read the original but it still amazes me that story telling is over looked. Why? The reason why collections such as the Sandman collection are so loved is down the old-fashioned story telling. What happened? When did writing become purely about soul destroying permanent flash band whizz? It oughtn’t to be (there’s nothign wrong with flash bang either – just not all the time. ).
